Benefits
The hydrating power of shea butter makes C/3 an extremely nourishing mask. The orange blossom water acts as a natural stimulant for the skin and helps it regenerate smoothly, withstand external aggressions and signs of ageing.
The high concentration in palmitoleic acid brought by the macadamia oil also contributes to moisturise your skin and to help prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • How strong is C/3's smell (1 to 10 scale)? 6 - a deep, very relaxing natural orange flower smell which gives it an oriental character.

  • Defining C/3's texture? Quite rich, still it penetrates quickly in your skin thanks to its emulsion nature (similar to the skin's surface). Don't tell this secret, but you can also use C/3 as a night cream by applying a bit less on your face and not wiping it afterwards...

FULLY UNDERSTANDING C/3'S FORMULA:

  • Citrus aurantium amara flower water (orange floral water): orange floral water is astringent, i.e. tightens pores to improve skin texture. It is also known to help the epidermis better withstand external aggressions and signs of ageing. Its vitamin C is known for activating microcirculation and toning the complexion.

  • Macadamia ternifolia seed oil (macadamia oil): macadamia oil is a very good moisturizer to start with. This lightweight oil that contains palmitoleic acid works as a moisturizer to keep your skin smooth and beautiful. It is a very gentle oil and very similar to our sebum. The palmitoleic acid, which the human body decreasingly produces as we age, will help prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Butyrospermum parkii butter (shea butter): recommended for its protective properties against skin dehydration. Readily and durably absorbed by the skin.

  • Coco-glucoside: emollient of natural origin, it softens and smoothens the skin, and acts as a skin feel and texture agents. An ideal natural substitute for silicone.

  • Glycerin: it is a natural moistening additive, which maintains the moisture content of the skin or formula itself. Its moisturizing and softening effects one from its ability to capture water molecules and lock them in the cells of the epidermis. It is found in its natural state in cherries, but also in all natural fats like those of the skin.

  • Coconut alcohol: it acts as an emollient, therefore retains moisture in the skin. It is also used an emulsion stabilizer to combine water and oil in products.

  • Persea gratissima oil (avocado oil): avocado oil is used as an emollient (which softens and smoothens the skin) and as an active moisturiser. It is rich in antioxidants, namely phytosterols, and contains substantial amounts of Omega-9 oleic acid (essential fatty acid).

  • Benzyl alcohol: antimicrobial preservative and solvent. One of the few preservatives allowed in organic products. It is naturally present in apricots, almonds, apples, asparagus, etc.

  • Titanium dioxide: it is a natural mineral powder used in large particules as a white cosmetic dye. Not to be confused with the same (and controversial) ingredient in nanoparticles.

  • Citrus sinensis peel oil expressed (orange essential oil): orange essential oil is astringent, i.e. tightens pores to improve skin texture. It is also known to help the epidermis better withstand external aggressions and signs of ageing. Its vitamin C is known for activating microcirculation and toning the complexion.

  • Zinc oxide: it is a mineral salt in the form of opaque powder, used to thicken the formula and also as a natural dye.

  • Dehydroacetic acid: used as an antimicrobial and fungicide preservative.

  • Limonene: a fragrant oil component, limonene is naturally present in numerous essential oils (citrus rinds), pine oil and mint oil.

  • Citral: used as a masking agent, citral is a major constituent of citronella oil and other plants of the Cymbopogon family. It is also present in the essential oils of verbena, orange, lemon, etc.

  • Farnesol: extract of lily of the valley, rose, essential oils of camomile, sandalwood, lemon-grass, palmarosa etc. Deodorising agent, it destroys bacteria.

  • Geraniol: a fragrant oil component, geraniol is a natural compound of the essential oils of rose and palmarosa. Also present in essential oils of geranium, lemon and citronella.

  • Linalool: an aromatic compound present in its natural state in the essential oils of lavender and lavandin, scots pine or peppermint, as well as many plant extracts.
